Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) has five paid car parks and two curbside zones, and choosing between them is worth real money: the same 24 hours costs HUF 7,800 in Relax Parking and HUF 66,000 at the Premium drop-off kerb — a difference of more than eight times. This guide compares every zone on the tariffs valid from 28 April 2026, including the new Relax Parking that opened in June 2026 and is now the cheapest long-stay option, then covers the independent off-airport operators, accessible spaces and how to pay.

The pattern is straightforward: the further the car park sits from Terminal 2, the cheaper it is, and the two curbside zones are priced to stop anyone leaving a car there. Terminal and the drop-off kerb have no tapering multi-day tariff at all — every further day costs the same as the first, which is why a week in Terminal Parking would cost more than a month in Relax.

Relax Parking: the cheapest long-stay car park
Relax Parking is the newest addition to the airport's parking, opened in June 2026, and it undercuts every other official zone: HUF 7,800 for the first day and only HUF 1,000 for each day past the thirtieth. The trade-off is the transfer — Relax is the one official car park you do not walk from, and a shuttle bus covers the 8–10 minutes to Terminal 2. Electric vehicle charging is available on site.

Smart Parking: cheapest of the car parks you walk from
Smart Parking holds about 1,440 monitored spaces an 8–10 minute walk from Terminal 2, and at HUF 9,100 a day it is the cheapest zone that needs no shuttle. Over a fortnight it saves roughly HUF 7,900 against Holiday Parking — worth having, though worth weighing against that walk if you are travelling with heavy bags or small children. Smart is the only long-stay zone with no EV charging.
Short stops are priced differently here: the first hour is a flat HUF 2,000 and three hours already costs the full day rate, so Smart is a long-stay car park and nothing else.

Holiday Parking: the long-stay car park closest to the terminal
Holiday Parking is what most people mean when they search for long-stay parking at BUD. It is the largest of the zones at roughly 2,525 monitored spaces, sits a 4–9 minute walk from Terminal 2 along a covered passage — you can push a trolley from the car to check-in without getting wet — and costs HUF 10,900 for the first day. Each further day adds only HUF 1,400, so the tariff tapers hard: thirty days costs HUF 73,500, not thirty times the daily rate. EV charging is available.
Holiday is the sensible pick if the shuttle to Relax or the walk from Smart does not appeal and you still want a long-stay price. In July, August and around public holidays the long-stay zones do fill, so pre-book.

City Break Parking: a few hours to a few days
City Break Parking is the middle option — a 2–5 minute walk from Terminal 2, with a proper hourly tariff as well as a daily one, and EV charging on site. It is the right choice for a weekend away or an evening at the airport, and the wrong choice for a fortnight: at HUF 1,700 per extra day it costs HUF 86,700 for a month against Relax Parking's HUF 51,200.

Terminal Parking: short stays right outside the doors
Terminal Parking is the closest car park you can actually leave a car in — under a minute from the terminal, about 746 spaces, EV charging, and a staffed payment desk. It is built for short stays: two hours costs HUF 4,450, a full 24 hours HUF 21,100, and there is no multi-day discount whatsoever, so every additional day adds another HUF 21,100. Use it to drop someone off without hurrying, or to wait for a delayed arrival, and use a long-stay zone for anything longer.

The kerb: Premium drop-off and the authorised vehicles area
Two zones sit directly in front of the terminal and are priced to keep them moving. The Premium drop-off area charges HUF 800 for up to five minutes, HUF 4,400 for up to half an hour and HUF 66,000 for 24 hours — the steepest tariff at the airport by a wide margin. The five-minute grace applies only to your first entry of the day; from the second entry, in any BUD car park, the standard fee is payable. The arrivals-level roadway is an authorised vehicles area, open only to BKK buses, licensed taxis, NT-permit holders, official vehicles and holders of a disability permit.
So if the flight you are meeting is delayed, do not circle the kerb — wait in Terminal or City Break Parking and drive round once the bags are on the belt. Check the live board on our arrivals page first.

Which car park should you choose?
- A few minutes to set down — the Premium drop-off kerb, HUF 800 for five minutes on your first entry of the day.
- Up to three hours — City Break at HUF 5,200, or Terminal at HUF 6,300 for the shortest walk.
- One night — City Break, HUF 14,100 for 24 hours; Holiday at HUF 10,900 is cheaper still if you do not mind the walk.
- Three to seven days — Relax on price, Smart if you would rather walk than take a shuttle, Holiday if you want the shortest walk of the three.
- Two weeks or more — Relax Parking: HUF 32,400 for a fortnight against HUF 38,200 in Smart and HUF 46,100 in Holiday.
- Meeting an arrival — Terminal or City Break Parking while you wait, never the kerb.

Booking, payment and how to save
Book online in advance. The airport sells parking through its own reservation portal and the pre-booked rate is lower than the drive-in tariffs quoted above. The saving grows with the length of the stay, so it matters most in Relax, Smart and Holiday Parking. Booking also guarantees a space in the summer peak.
Paying on site. Automatic machines stand at the terminal doors and inside the car parks, and a staffed payment desk operates at Terminal Parking. Cash in forints and bank cards are both accepted; pay before returning to your car, then use the validated ticket to raise the barrier. Every car park has card payment, licence-plate recognition, insurance cover and 24/7 CCTV at the access points.
Prices apply to started time units. A stay of two hours and one minute is charged as three hours, and past 24 hours the unit of payment becomes whole days. Parking outside the general contractual conditions carries a surcharge of HUF 6,000 per hour, which includes the parking fee.
Accessible parking. The first 20 minutes are free for people with reduced mobility in the designated spaces; ask for the discount at Gate H, on the corridor between Terminal 2A and Terminal 2B on the arrivals level. Designated spaces are provided at Terminal Parking, the Premium drop-off area and the arrivals level.
Electric cars. Charging stations are available in Terminal, City Break, Holiday and Relax Parking. Smart Parking has none, so plan to arrive with enough charge for the drive home.

Off-airport parking: independent operators near BUD
Besides the official car parks, several independent companies run secure lots a short drive from the terminals. They used to be the obvious budget choice; with Relax Parking now at HUF 7,800 a day the gap has narrowed, so compare the total for your exact dates rather than assuming off-airport is cheaper. Well-known operators include Park&Fly, BUDCAR Parking, Best Parking and NOA Parking. The model is the same everywhere: book online, drive to a fenced and guarded lot, and a shuttle takes you to the terminal, typically in 5–10 minutes.

Parking at Budapest Airport in Hungarian
Hungarian signage and the airport's own Hungarian pages use parkolás for parking and parkoló for a car park, so BUD parkolás and reptéri parkoló are what you will see on road signs and in the booking portal. The zone names themselves are not translated: Relax, Smart, Holiday, City Break and Terminal Parking appear in English on the gantries, which makes them easy to follow whichever language you drive in.
