Editorial Policy

Last updated: 14 September 2026

Everything on this site is written to answer one kind of question: what a traveller actually needs to know to get through Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) without a surprise. This page explains who writes it, where the numbers come from, and what happens when we get something wrong.

Who writes this site

Pages are written and maintained by the editorial team of Budapest Airport Guide, published by Global Online Travel (Yerevan, Armenia). We are an independent publisher. We are not the airport, we do not act for the airport, and no airline, car park, transfer company or rental firm has any say over what a page says about it.

Where the numbers come from

Fares, opening hours, baggage limits and legal thresholds are taken from the organisation that sets them — the airport operator, the transport authority, the railway, the tax authority or the relevant EU regulation — and never from another travel site. Each page carries a Sources block at the bottom listing the specific pages we checked, so you can verify any figure yourself rather than take our word for it.

Where an operator publishes a price only in Hungarian forints, we quote the forint figure as the authoritative one and give a euro equivalent as an approximation. The forint amount is what you will be charged.

How pages are kept current

Airport prices move, and they move without announcement. Budapest Airport replaced its entire parking tariff on 28 April 2026; the Budapest taxi tariff rose on 1 August 2026 and added an airport surcharge; the BKK single ticket went from 450 to 500 HUF. Each of those changes silently invalidated pages that had been correct the week before.

So we re-check pages against their sources rather than assume they are still right. Every page shows the date it was last updated, at the top and again in the Sources block, and that date is generated from the database record of the edit itself — not typed in by hand, and not refreshed by unrelated changes. Pages covering prices and timetables are reviewed more often than pages covering things that rarely change, such as terminal layout or airport codes.

Corrections

If a figure on this site is wrong, we want to know, and we would rather hear it from a reader than leave it standing. Write to info@budapest-bud-international-airport.comand tell us which page and which number. Corrections are made directly on the page, and the page’s “last updated” date changes with them.

Translations

The site is published in 16 languages. English is the source language: a fact is established and checked in English first, and the other language versions are derived from it. When a figure changes, the English page and its translations are updated together, and a translation that has not yet been brought in line is corrected rather than left to drift.

Advertising and commercial links

The site is funded by advertising and by partner links to booking services (transfers, car rental, experiences). Those relationships pay for the research; they do not buy a recommendation. Where we say an option is the cheapest, the fastest or the one to avoid, that is our reading of the operators’ own published terms, and it is checked again whenever the terms change. Advertising is disclosed in our Privacy Policy.

What we do not do

We do not handle bookings, lost property, flight changes or any other operational matter — we have no access to them. For those, contact Budapest Airport or your airline directly. Nothing on this site is legal advice; where we describe passenger rights, we link to the regulation itself so you can read the wording that applies to you.
